This year, I totally do not feel like celebrating my birthday. Reality has set in that I'm already 27!!! And I still mistook and thought I was 26 when someone asked me. Lolx. You know you are old when you no longer wants to make a big deal out of your birthdays.
But anyway, I still had a few surprises. Ben got me a set of earrings and necklace which is pretty good for wedding dinner! I do not have any proper nice looking pieces for dinners. We went Prive to have fine dining. I guess both of us are really not into fine dining especially me since I'm a VERY picky eater. Those ox tail, canapes etc are not really my kind of food and I'm back to square eating the safest dish - spegetties. Lolx.. Having said so, the ambience was good and yup, it made me feel that it was an important occasion. =D Come to think of it, he doesnt really go to such places but these few years, he has been doing alot of researches bringing me to places both of us has never been before and each tiny plate really cost a bomb. I guess I can really feel the efforts put in.
Back in school, I received a bouquet of flowers from anonymous. This person has always been sending me flowers for the past consecutive years. Nope, they are definitely not from Ben but whoever it was, I really thank this person for the kind thoughts, that is, if you are reading my blog. Audrey was also very kind to buy me a giant size Mickey Mouse which was good enough to be my bolster. I had a cake from her too. Gad was kind enough to give me a book about being a good wife. Lolx.. I may look bad in his opinion. Just kidding. =p
The children were very active in FB so many of them came prepared with cards etc knowing it was my birthday after FB prompted them. Being Primary 1, they are really so cute and innocent, a few came to me with gifts from their parents and one even gave me her used cartoon comb wrapped in a nice piece of coloured paper. Haha. Some parents even signed off the birthday cards from the whole family, the mum, the dad, my student and the sister. Seriously, I've made some friends with the parents of my students already. Even before this special date, they had been very nice to me, encouraging me, giving me chocolates and snacks. I am really blessed in this job. I guess blessing the children with my guidance and teachings in turn leads to blessings from their parents for me. =D
My all time buddies, Kaili, Xiang Ting, Adrian, Eileen and Greg has also gotten me something which I wanted to buy since last year! They got me a digital photoframe! Can be put into good use on wedding day hehe. Anyway, they took the trouble to buy me a meal and a lychee martini cake! Every year without fail, everyone is always so commited to celebrating birthdays for each other. I really hope this will continue on despite everyone hating to get old. Haha. I love you guys really! Muacks!
Anyway, as the days to NIE approaches, I'm beginning to have the 舍不得 feeling coming to me. Truly, this year, I had an easy year. My class was almost near perfect. I happened to have many smart people in the class and they have good habits/behaviours. Because of that, teaching them becomes very easy and learning is fast that I'm always on time for my topics unlike last year. The test results were out and indeed, my class has the highest averages for both English and Maths subjects, with the lowest number of failure rates. I'm very proud of them and would like to see them grow till the end of year but it's impossible now. I have to give away all these 'polished gems' to someone else just like that... You know how I feel right? Finding gold but needs to give it away to someone else to benefit instead. If I had been a trained NIE teacher, I guess this class would be my best portfolio! Oh well.... I believe more good things will be coming by the grace of God. So far, He has not fail me.
