Should I or Should I Not File a Complain?

Went to see the doctor today. The nurse gave me some medications which I've never seen before. When asked, she went back to the doctor and the doctor said it's the same as what I was having previously, change of brand only. He is the doctor right? So I have to trust him right? I questioned the nurse why they are not giving me the original brand, her reply was cos it's out of stock.

Came home and was about to take the medications when I realised the date "Feb 2010". Helloooo, today is 28th Feb 2010! I was so pissed I called up the clinic and was told to go back for an exchange for the ORIGINAL brand that I wanted! Full of angst, I was thinking

1) Why lie to me and said the original were out of stock?
2) Why give me something different though I insisted on getting the same?
3) Why give me something different with EXPIRED date?

I went back to the clinic, now filled with loads of patients. Purposely said in a loud voice:

Me: how can you all do that? How can you give me expired medications? What if I din check?
Nurse (Apologetic, though I know it was not her idea): I'm sorry. I'll change for you to the original ones.
Me: It's not about changing but you all should not give expired medications
Nurse: Sorry but I think it's not expired
Me (Angry): What not expired? What is this printed here?
Nurse 2 to Nurse 1: I think you better tell doctor about it. Really expired
Me: Then why just now you tell me out of stock? Now got stock?
Nurse 1: Ya. Sorry I did not check properly just now. Sorry about it.

I took the medication and walked off.

I know it's not the fault of the nurse because she is not suppose to dispense anything different without the doctor's instructions. It happened that they did not notice that the new brand medication had expired. To be honest, working in a clinic before, I suspect these are samples given by suppliers to the doctors to try but these unethical doctors who studied so much wants to be greedy and sell it for a profit.

I'm just one unlucky chap to get it. It's the doctor's attitude that pisses me off. I know the nurses are just scapegoats.

I thought doctors are suppose to save? I thought they are suppose to be caring? We trusted their judgement and diagnosis so we assumed that everything they said are correct since they are experts in it. I trusted that he did not shortchange me when he gave me the new brand but why did he make his nurses lie that the original bran ran out? What is his motive? If not for the expiry date, I will think this is a good doctor!

Are business to good these days for them? Should I complain against him or let it rest? It's not a major issue but neither is it small... what if some granny eats it? Are they going to answer for that?

Anyway, to make things better, on the way back to exchange for the medications, I found a few pieces of notes in the car park. On second look, they were money! I dunno how all these notes can be flying around in the middle of the car park and they came dispersed, not in one bulk. I went to pick them up and yup, it covered all my medical expenses for today. =)

My Kind of HAPPY Lunar New Year =)

Every year when this is approaching, it's so routine... 初一 to paternal grandma's and god-grandparents' home, 初二 to my maternal grandma's home. This is only the second lunar new year with him thus our plans does not really revolves around each other yet.

Anyway, was pretty excited when my mum told me that this year, we are all going to Kukup to spend the Lunar New Year. The whole maternal side went and the buses were only us and us. It was more of a R&R trip as there were nothing much over at Kukup. Modern people like us are never going to be satisfied with the simple village kelong life over there. However, it was the company that matters.

We set off in the early morning of 初一 at Jurong East MRT station. The bus was there to pick us up. Greeted by my all my aunties, uncles, cousins and grandma, we boarded the two mini buses and headed for the custom. It took us about 2 hours to reach the fishing village.

Things were really different over there. Like it or not, I feel that we human are really the causes for our own doom. The water that greeted us were milky and loads of nonsense were thrown into the water just above all the houses. You name it, they have it. Rat corpse, tables, chairs, spoons, forks, plastics, I wonder how many more years will the dreadful effect comes into full force. Having said that, the houses were beautiful, clean and huge. In a troop of 20, we managed to stay at one house with 6 bedrooms and each bed room has an average of 4 double decker beds. The place was in fact too big to accommodate all of us. There were so many mahjong tables around, a KTV set, and a fishing net for us to pass our time. All food were provided. And when I said food, it was good food with lots of seafoods. However, I was not very keen on the seafood because of the fact that the water is so milky and whatever was flushed down, went directly into the water. Of course, I was told not to be too bothered about it for most of the seafood came form such environment. I took some bites and of cos, it tasted exactly the same as those in Singapore but fresher. However, I still cannot get over the fact that these seafoods were from the milky, muddy water that contains all sorts of waste, including human's. Sounds gross? Haha... We are too pampered I guess. I came home healthy and well. No Lao sai though since I'm a sucker for it. =p

Anyway, for the younger generation, it was the first time that we meddle with the fire crackers and fire works since it's not allowed in Singapore. It was truly an awesome experience! =) What a wonderful family I have. Thank you God for that =) Not only are my immediate family members lovely, my relatives are all as lovely too.

Wooohooo, AMIT was GREAT~!

Here are the pictures =)

Went to her concert last Saturday. Had a good deal off the ticket because someone was not able to make it and sold it off to me at $50 cheaper =D Am glad I went because I must say that she's really one of those who does not need any gimmick nor sexy dance move and yet was able to move the whole concert hall throughout the 3 hours session just by her ever powerful voice. She did not even bother to change her clothes (ok, 2 times only) and just continue singing throughout the nite without a sign of breathlessness. Although I'm not into idol worshiping but I guess Ah Mei's concert is one that we should not miss (I mean I will not spend so much on it again but at least, if there is any chance, do go for one of her concert in your lifetime!). It's really worth it.

i dunno why I can't upload any pictures now. I will do it soon =)

Btw, Hachiko is so heart warming. Made me sob throughout the show. Go watch it if you need a good cry haha..
