Sometimes, Old Things Are Still More Valuable

Actually, my watch has been spoilt for the past 2 weeks but I continued wearing it to work daily hoping it will get better because it did about 1 year ago. I think the battery is running flat. My colleagues saw it and ask why am I still wearing a watch that doesn't tick. The timing is slow like 6 hours ;p

Anyway, I do have a few watches. In fact, more than what my hands and feet combined. But somehow, I like to wear the SWATCH which was given to me as a present during my 18th birthday from my secondary school mates. It has been with me for the last 7 years. It went through Orlando, Miami, Los Angeles, Taiwan, Hong Kong and all sorts of places with me throughout these 7 years. =)

I could always change to the other watches but whenever I do that, I felt uneasy. Weirdo isn't it? Now that I'm working already, I've always wanted a proper watch ( I mean a little more upmarket as a prize) but the thoughts that I may wear back the SWATCH again puts me off. Haha...

Honestly, it may just be a watch but alot of sentiments and feelings have been attached to it. When I look at it, it reminds me of many good and bad things. When I was extremely down in Orlando, I kept looking at the watch, wondering when I'm able to go home. Wondering what's the time here in Singapore. Thinking if my loved ones are awake so I could MSN or call back. Today when I looked at it, it reminds me of the time when I was working at Sea World. It was during this time that I had accidently scratched the face of the watch. The 'scars' are still very obvious.

I'm not sure if is it because these feelings were attached because I got to used to it or is it because it was given to me by my buddies. Someday, this watch will somehow not work anymore. I will definitely keep it for memory's sake. Sometimes, old things are still more valuable. =D I guess I need to get the watch fixed soon =)
